2024 N.W.S. Scholarship Award

The third annual Neal W. Strohmeyer Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in STEM Studies was recently awarded to Northern Highlands High School Senior Bryce Stekelenburg. The criteria established for the award requires an intention to pursue a college degree in a STEM-related major, a 3.5 or better GPA, and an engagement in extracurricular activities. In his essay, Bryce took us on his journey through the world of STEM and the countless moments that shaped his passion for solving real-world problems. He will enter the University of Richmond this fall to pursue studies in engineering.

Triangle CEO Dax Strohmeyer established this scholarship in May of 2022 to honor the memory of his father Neal W. Strohmeyer, community business leader and 1969 graduate of Northern Highlands High School. While at Northern Highlands, Neal was a star player on the baseball team. After college, he joined his father, William, in the family business, eventually taking the helm in 1987 and leading the company for the next 3 decades.

Today, Dax, a third-generation Strohmeyer, continues the family legacy as its CEO. He, too, was a star athlete at Northern Highlands, playing on the football, basketball, and baseball teams.
The Strohmeyer family has always been strongly connected to Northern Highlands and the local Bergen County community. Highlands students continue to visit the Triangle campus in Upper Saddle River, where some experience the engineering CO-OP program that Triangle offers to aspiring STEM students. Some have even become members of the Triangle family after graduating from college.

The awards ceremony took place at Highlands in early June, and Dax was on hand, as always, to present the award personally. Congratulations and best wishes to Bryce from the entire Triangle family!
